Since my educational background is in sculpture, I find the Polaroid manipulation technique a great balance between photography and the hands-on feel of working with a medium. Photography can be such a "don't touch or you'll ruin it" type of artform. With this technique of Polaroid manipulation I can use dental tools to move the chemicals around the film and it seems like the more you handle the film, the better it turns out.
To capture these images, I use a SX-70 camera with Time Zero film. Polaroid has discontinued this film in 2006. I sell the originals and also enlargements. Each image is numbered, titled and signed on the back, and the enlargements are in editions of only five.
